In the summer of 2021, in addition to its own lending program and after being a Kiva Trustee for more than seven years, Bayou Microfund became the proud caretaker of the Kiva Houston Hub with support from the Dell Family Foundation. The Hub gives local entrepreneurs access to interest-free micro-loans ranging from $1K to $15K.

In 2020, Heather Davis, was among a few lucky female entrepreneurs awarded a special Covid-19 grant from Caress and IFundWomen.com to help her business My Chic Sweets brave the ravages of the pandemic. Fast forward to 2022, and she is still making stellar sweets while pursuing the dream of securing her own commercial kitchen! Davis, who has become a pro at crowdfunding through Kiva, has been invited by IFundWomen.com to fundraise on their curated platform.
