About Bayou Microfund
Bayou Micro Fund, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation that provides interest-free micro loans to Under-served, Un-bankable Entrepreneurs, was launched in 2014 in an effort to expand the presence of micro-lending opportunities in Houston, Texas.
We are a Kiva Trustee and manage the Kiva Houston Hub. We also collaborate with TiE Houston, a local entrepreneurial organization, to educate, fund, and incubate micro-entrepreneurs. The seed of the idea for Bayou Microfund came from a talk that founder Prasad Menon made at a TiE event several years ago and stemmed from experiences earlier in his career. More here on Our Story.
