Our First Kiva Zip Campaign is Live!

Our first Ziva Zip campaign is live! Alex Colby is raising a $5,000 loan for his business, Lemon-D-Lite. Here’s a little bit about the business from the Kiva page:

“The name of my business is Lemon-D-Lite. We are a Houston based healthy snack food brand specializing in healthy popcorn. Our top selling product is The Original Gourmet Lemon Popcorn. Its irresistible flavor is matched only by its outstanding nutritional benefits. My grandfather, Henry Narvaez, was the one who developed our flavors and started Lemon-D-Lite. He struggled to keep the business going and in his old age was unable to take the business any further. I have since stepped in and am working on making Lemon-D-Lite a household name in Houston.

We currently have our Gourmet Lemon Popcorn in three Houston health food stores and one in New York. We also sell our products at the Urban Harvest Farmers Markets here in Houston. The popping corn we sell at the Farmers Market comes from a small farm in Rockdale, Texas. We are proud to say that our product comes from a local and sustainable source. We have been getting amazing feedback from customer and still have many more flavors and products to introduce. We are currently in the middle of negotiating a partnership with another company who is going to allow us to use their kitchen facilities as our production factory. Houston Panini Press, another Colby family business, is in the process of renovating their store front.

Once H.P.P. opens in February, Lemon-D-Lite popcorn will be produced at the site. Lemon-D-Lite staff will have access to commercial poppers, candy coaters, oven, stove top, prep tables, storage space, flexible hours, and baking trays at the H.P.P. kitchen which will allow us to produce some standout products.”
